Unity and Peace

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23

Big picture: war/battling has been going on for a long, long time. It is, first, a spiritual battle.

Smaller picture: evil exists and manifests itself in and through despots, bigotry, idolatry, and everyday folks..."evil is sin on steroids".

Link: even as one in the 21st century understands the concept of a global society - connected by technology and economies...it is most desperately needed that we grow in our understanding of our unity, as Christ-followers, through the Spirit, in the power of prayer to bring, and be, about change and transformation.

Reality: it is essential to be united in Christ through our prayer life. Let us, personally and corporately - pray, pray, and pray some more;

- let us be united in supporting and maintaining a strong military, it's presence alone serves as a deterrent to those who reside in and nurture fear

- let us believe, there is an inseparability between faith and action.

- I believe, eternally, the big battle has been won, and it is imperative that we "dig in and launch out," for the daily battle - the one being waged all around us, in Europe, Africa, the USA, our schools, and the family unit.
