Sin's Defeat

Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:34

Everlasting God, forgive us for what we have done! Merciful God, your grace is sufficient, sin and death have been defeated. In our ignorance, brokenness, and wanton ways we foolishly refute the irrefutable. Have we not learned O Lord, your will - Father, Son, Holy Spirit, is the very essence of love and our existence.

We pray, Sovereign God, that as this day unfolds, we will be faithful to the One who, in love, as we stood watching, took on and became the sin of the world. In the name of Jesus Christ...

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Oh were you there when they crucified my Lord?
(Ohh, sometimes it causes me to tremble)
Tremble
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

Were you there when they nailed Him to the cross?
Were you there when they nailed Him to the cross?
(Ohh, sometimes it causes me to tremble)
Tremble
Were you there when they nailed Him to the cross?

Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
(Ohh, sometimes it causes me to tremble)
Tremble
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?

Well, were you there when the stone was rolled away?
Were you there when the stone was rolled away?
(Ohh, sometimes it causes me to tremble)
Tremble
Were you there when the stone was rolled away?
