Passover’s Purpose
And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God." Luke 22:14-16
Passover and the Last Supper are great symbols and reminders of a God who fulfills his every promise. In Jesus, through the Spirit, we find God's greatest promise, a culmination of purpose and meaning for all - life.
Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Holy God, your invitation to a new life, an eternal life, begins with grace and a confession of faith. Lord, you make us prove nothing. We do not have to be "perfect enough" in any way, shape, or form. Lord Jesus, you are the perfect "Passover Lamb".
Sovereign God, as we reflect and rest in you this Maundy Thursday, may your peace fill our souls, your grace be our strength, and your love be our will. Jesus, as you live, we too shall live...
