Faith's Assurance
All those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things. Luke 23:49
Shock, disbelief, questioning, "what has just happened?". Jesus crucified - their friend, teacher, their hope, a dead body. "How can this be?"
Is there any semblance of the "old life" that you are hanging on to? To accept more deeply, more wholly, more holistically, that Christ died to sin and defeated death, feel free, as you are free, to lay, to place your sin (opposition to God's will), in Jesus on the cross.
He, my friends, will never disappoint. Do it today, for the first time, or for the hundredth. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for.
The tomb stone was rolled away and the disciples hope was not found wanting - nor is ours.
