Righteousness

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Matthew 5:6

Righteousness - all those thoughts, things, activities, and outcomes that are found rooted in God. God is righteousness! 

The world is filled with "alluring" thoughts, things, activities, and outcomes that look like the "real things" but they are not, they are "knock-offs" (gold colored jewelry is not jewelry made of gold). 

Many people are satisfied or become satisfied with the knock-offs in life. Some because they have never tasted the goodness of God, others because they are not willing to undergo God's refining process.

Salvation is easy, discipleship is difficult. 

Holy God, you alone are perfect righteousness! In your majesty and power you create and re-create all that is good, beautiful, and righteous. O Lord, you have taught us and shown us the desires and amazing riches of your heart.

Separate in me and from me all those things that lack the purity and holiness of Jesus my Lord. Your grace is sufficient. I will rejoice this day and every day knowing that You, the One, who lives in me, is greater and more precious than the one who lives in, and only appeals to be so alluring, in the world.

Jesus, you are my righteousness! In your name, for your name's sake, I am forever yours…
