In His Strength and Power

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:16–19

To what end does God give us strength and power? None other than to be perfected in love and holiness - to be sanctified! It is not for us to look good and sound good in eyes of others or standing in front of the mirror. No. It is God's mission that we become His goodness, that God's love and holiness so consume us that the image and essence of God is what others see and desire. All else is mere chaff on the threshing floor of life.

Teach us, glorious and sovereign God, in your grace, to be the vessels of love that you would use to transform the world. There is no task too big, no brokenness too small, no soul beyond your sight. Let us be refined in your image for your name's sake...Jesus!
