Humble Redemption

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels. Mark 8: 35-38

How much in this world has changed in the last two thousand years, yet, how much has stayed the same!

The advances in civilization, the inventions and use of technologies, all praise to God for the talents woven into the fabric of life. And at the same time, woe to us, present day or eternally, for succumbing to worship the lure of the riches in the world.

Two things have remained constant throughout the ages. The brokenness in each person's soul and the will of the Creator to heal.

I enter this time of prayer O Lord with a humble heart knowing, but in part, of the times and ways my words and actions have been injurious to myself and others. I gladly welcome the forgiveness offered in Christ. I embrace the giving of your Spirit for the edification of my soul and for the loving of others. My shame has been covered, my life is not my own, and this day is a good day to witness the grace of my Lord Jesus, always sufficient and available to all...
