Confident Expectation

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:13–14

Sovereign God, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. My eyes take in the horrors and hurts of one person upon another and my ears have heard of atrocities from nation-to-nation, but in the midst of all things that run contrary to your will, your perfect love is the foundation and hope.

Jesus, you never separated yourself from the trials of life, yet you never became bitter or ceased to be merciful - teach me your ways. Yes, and fill me, consume me, use me that even I, might embody your light that transforms shadows of doubt and fears into assurances of your love.

May this prayer and the silent prayers of hearts be - nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else, in the name of the Lord!
