Faith

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8–9

The presence and activity of God in your life, in the church, in the world, always calls for a response!

Some hear but do not listen. Some listen but do not understand. Others listen, understand, and respond. Your response can be to affirm or negate, yes or no. 

In John 6:66 we read, "From that time many of his disciples went back and walked with him no more." 

In Matthew 16:16 we read, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Everlasting and holy God, teach me to listen to your Spirit, that, in faith, my response will be in according with your purpose and plan for my life. Teach us, the church, the body of Christ, to respond as you respond to the needs of others. You, Lord Jesus, taught us to feed, clothe, shelter, to visit the sick, those in prison, to take care of the orphan and the widow...in word, deed, and spirit.
Apart from you we can do no good thing, but in you Jesus, we can do all things. By your grace, may we each respond in faith…
