Competition
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:9–10
If there is such a thing as "holy competition" it can be found in seeking to honor others above yourself.
Honoring others is rooted in the love that we read about that was so nicely stated by Paul, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking..."
Sadly, professing Christ-followers, often fall to the temptations of: competing with one another for "places of honor"; measuring "their value" in comparison to another. Arguably, this is the most damaging witness of the body of Christ.
Hear the good news - there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus...what is impossible for man is possible with God!
Let a "holy competition" begin with you and me in the world and in the church, today...honoring others above ourselves!
All God's great blessings this day and every day!
