Strength
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.
Psalm 46:1-3
Faith in our Lord is, at the same time, both supernatural and practical. God, who is Spirit, became flesh, enduring all that confronts humanity, yet, was still God - uncreated perfect holiness. We, flesh of flesh, who are created, in the image of God, become temples of the living God, who, in Spirit, lives in and through us.
Holiness is faith-practicing reality when the love of God is exhibited (that is, lived out) in our everyday words and actions. It can neither be bought nor sold as it is a free gift of the living God.
Strength in the Lord
Everlasting and holy God, you who created the heavens and earth, know each of us better than we know ourselves. You knew us even before "in the beginning".
You alone are God. We are your children, loved and uplifted. No amount of striving on our part will earn us a place in your Kingdom. You, in Spirit, live within us, that we might live out your love in the world - in every relationship.
Today, and every day that I will walk and talk and breathe, will be faithfully surrendered to you, Jesus. Your amazing grace is always sufficient and my deepest desire is being with you, Lord and Savior…
