Your Everyday Witness

By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:35

It sounds easy enough. In reality, loving others is the greatest challenge, the most difficult everyday task at hand. And the reason is simple: the human condition's default position is to think of, to take care of, self first...me first, my way, me, my, and I.

Love puts others first. Love is patient, kind, not easily angered...

Only, truly, only by the grace of God is one loving. This is my prayer today:

Holy God, destroy in me all that is self-serving that I might be the love of Christ in the world, in work, in play, in family, in community this day. In the name of Jesus...
