Walking in Truth

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John:1:4

John the apostle is speaking to believers, acknowledging, in part, those of whom he has discipled in faith as Christ-followers.

As a parent and disciple of Jesus Christ, my greatest desire is to hold fast to the truth and wisdom contained in this verse for my children.

Oftentimes, it is so easy to be be swept up in being concerned for our loved ones...to go to the "right college", get the "right job", hang out with the "right friends" our vision becomes blurred or dulled to the One who is, and has, laid the foundation of what is to be understood as "right", Jesus.

Father God, I will cling today to the promise of Jesus, "I am the way, the truth, and the life...". Fill me afresh with your Spirit that I might live out this confession of faith...
