The Way of God
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Cor 13: 4-8
Lest anyone thinks this a "holier than thou" post...I am most certainly guilty of most everything I've ever been accused of...I won't list the charges 😜.
Out of all the philosophies of life I've read over the years, out of all the studying of various religions, in all the time I've spent with the Bible, this verse, in my opinion, is one of the greatest ways to honor God and neighbor.
Holy God, you alone are the perfector of my faith. You are the Creator and the Redeemer, the giver of every good gift. Thank you for friends and family. Thank you for food and shelter, and clothes and medicines. Thank you for reaching out and into my life many years ago to take me from a life of being self-ruled to showing me a life in Christ as the way and the truth. Thank you for forgiveness for my past and present sinful ways (all the times and ways that I live and act and am outside your will).
Holy God, I thank you for your grace that is always sufficient. Lord Jesus, I am excited to see how your light will shine in our present, broken-hearted world. May the words from my mouth and the works of my hands, this day and everyday, bring honor and glory and praise to the Name above all names, Jesus!
Because He Lives...
