The Spirit

Then he said to me, "This is what the LORD says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the LORD almighty. Zechariah 4:6

How easy, and often, it is to drive forward, confident in one's experience and talent only to find that you have missed key turns along the road. 

For Christ-followers in life's journey, the destination remains constant. The great challenge is to LISTEN to the leading of the Spirit and to OBEY rather than reading the signs of popular culture that always point to "take care of yourself".

Rarely will the road be straight. Rarely is the road without rough terrain but it will be marked with the awe and wonder of the Lord's making.

Growing in our faith and trust of God comes through spending time with the Lord in the quiet places. 

O Lord, teach me to listen to your voice. Find me faithful in seeking your will in the quiet still places that I might be assured of moving in your Spirit during the busyness of the day. Lord Jesus, your will be done in my life, the life of my family, and in this day as it unfolds…
