The Fruit of the Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Gal 5:22-23

Do you ever find yourself picking and partaking of the fruit from the world? The little voice gently provides the added incentive, "it's okay to be angry with....they were insulting and mean in their comments", "it's okay to have another drink and another, it's been a really tough day", "it's only natural that I feel badly about what I don't have, especially when I have to see, everyday, what so-and-so has!"

Quite frankly, you, nor I, of ourselves, are any competition for the sneakiness of the evil one who would fill us so full of the lies that lead only to misery and eternal separation from the Holy One.

Cheer up, give up your right to yourself, set your eyes on Christ alone. And, do not set your sights on "your own holiness", truly, there is no such thing. In Jesus, with Jesus, by grace, we become partakers of His holiness, and our lives begin to take on the beautiful and fragrant fruit of the spirit.

Yesterday is gone, the day is at hand, forgive those who have slighted you and carpe diem, in His strength, for this is the day that the Lord has made...
