Relax, Let God be God

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1

Relax a little, all of us, "type A", "gonna make it happen", "get the job done", "this is how you do it", "watch this" kind of people.

No amount of hard-charging, perfectionistic mentality will make you, or anyone holy or pleasing to God. The key is to "offer your bodies" to God. Surrendering, submitting, give God all of the right to all of yourself.

Our contribution to being in a holy and pleasing relationship with the King of kings, the great I Am, is our surrendering and desire for God to be God...all that is good and praiseworthy, all the fruit of the spirit, all that it means to be creative, redemptive, and perfecting. Apart from God we can do no good thing.

It is far easier for a "type A" person to "take charge" than it is to surrender. Remember, it is not about the content of your closet of accolades and accomplishments...the Christian life is about Christ's character in you, through you, with you.

Merciful God, in your Spirit, teach me the wisdom of turning to you in everything that I do and say. Let your will be done in my life and the life of my family. I surrender all, in the name of Jesus, for His name's sake…
