New Creation

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 COR 2:17

When Paul says, "the old is gone", he doesn't mean that you are no longer a brother, sister, son, daughter, mother, father, employee, or business owner. Not at all. Paul is saying, your identification with all of those things that we just named, and others that one may choose, is to be identified by who I am in Christ, and who Christ is in me! All that I am and can be, that is good and praiseworthy, is Christ in me. No longer do I have the "right" the sense of "owning" any claim to "being" self-made. Our identity begins and ends with God. Does that seem harsh? Relatively speaking, claiming Jesus as Lord and Savior is easy, living it out, day to day, that can be quite challenging. Thankfully, when we put on Christ we agreed that we are no longer in control, only, that we are responsible. Have a blessed day in Christ
