Language

It's not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth." Matthew 15:10

As a kid, it wasn't uncommon to hear, "don't put that in your mouth, you'll get trench mouth!" And, "don't say shut up, that is not nice!" Then I went in the Marine Corps and learned a whole new language and that there really is such a thing as "trench mouth". 

So many cultures, so many languages, so many philosophies of life, but there is only one God. This God who creates and redeems, also holds the power to perfect - in love. All your applied will-power in the world will not purify your soul, your spirit, your heart. Maybe, like me, you have tried and felt and known defeat. Stop struggling, now! Pray with me:

Holy, holy, holy God, author and perfector of my faith, in you alone will I trust! I surrender all that I am, all that I have been, and all that I can be to you. Fill me this day, this hour, this very minute with your Spirit that the light and beauty and strength and hope and power of Jesus Christ might live in me and through me. You are mine and I am yours and this day. My life is filled with the promises of you, the Living God - Father, Son, Holy Spirit...your will be done, nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else...
