Kingdom First
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things shall be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
Ahhh, whenever we see the word "but" it tells us that whatever it was that just got said, however important it might be, it is not as important as what is now going to be said.
Have you found yourself, or, maybe it might be more appropriate to say, have you lost yourself lately in your striving after something?
Whatever it is or might be, may it pale in comparison to Kingdom relatedness and Christ mindedness.
Jesus himself, knowingly takes the basic fundamentals of physical well-being, food, drink and clothing and tells us, "don't worry about this". If anyone thinks this is simply a one-off directive or response, think again.
Now, rather than "striving" for the Kingdom or righteousness, "seek", that is, desire with your heart, mind, and soul the Kingdom and his righteous...by submitting - accepting the grace of God available to us, each, this day.
Holy God, you know us better than we know ourselves. Free us from the temptation to worry, fear, or seek control of that which is less significant in the Kingdom. In your Spirit, we will walk, talk, and act accordingly this day, not by our might, strength, or right, but in the presence, pardon, and power of the King of kings...
