His Grace to Love
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. James 1:19-20
Loving God, may I walk, by your Spirit, in this truth today! Holy God, never in all my years have you failed me...never did you fail Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob. Never did you fail Peter, James, or John. Your love never fails. In your wisdom sovereign God you have given us, those made in your image, free will to choose how and when and where we will respond to you and to others. Find us faithful stewards of the grace that makes this possible, the grace afforded to all, through Christ, to be peacemakers. Lord, we know in our heart of hearts, that our self righteous indignation leads to discontentment -with others, with ourselves, and with you, and yet, how often I seek to be in control. Father, forgive me. Your grace is sufficient, your power is always shown perfect in our weakness. May all honor and glory be yours this new day precious God. May my heart be right with you and with others. And surely as the love of Christ has been rooted in me, may I hear the "point of pain and anguish" in other's lives, that through my countenance, and through word and deed, another might say, "Praise be to God!"
