Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35
So much of one's time is consumed with the material world. And how often, and easy, it is that we turn the material into objects of worship; even the basic necessities, like food and drink.
Every body must eat and drink, it is part of the natural world. The world that God created. Jesus takes what is natural to lead his disciples back into the realm of the supernatural...to reveal God's great desire for restoration, reconciliation, and renewal in right and holy and loving relationship...with God and others.
Many will look around the world, admiring its beauty, tasting of its treasures, and not seek to know the Creator. They will travel from one worldly appetizer to another, only to find an unsatiated appetite.
Natural hungers might be abated by the temporary meal, but only the supernatural food offered in Christ alone will feed the soul and nourish the spirit.
Pray, study the Word, worship, fellowship, serve others and taste and know the "Bread of Life!"
