Finding Rest in Christ

"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42

Dear Martha's of the World,

How we work so diligently with great care, giving undivided attention to each detail! Oh yeah, also, we know what others have done or not done - we're watching you Mary's of the world! But, you don't care, as a matter of fact, you haven't even noticed. Which just ticks us Martha's off even more!

Then, to make it worse, He offers us correction after we have tried to help to right the grievance against us by strongly suggesting that He straighten out "you know who"!

Well, it's true. Attention to detail is good. Keeping track of what others have done or not done, in comparison to myself, is bad. And, sitting at the feet of Jesus, literally or in spirit, is better.

Take heart my Martha friends, let God's grace help us to embrace the truth, and let everything else, and I mean everything else, take back seat to sitting in His presence!
