Embracing Humility

What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you - who are you to judge your neighbor? James 4:1,12

There is a difference between assessing spiritual valuation and judging. The first has to do with the actions, the second with the person. 

EGO - edging-God-out, gives rise to the de-valuing of persons through pride and judgment.

On the other hand, humility allows one to see, through the shortcomings and sin of another, a window into one's own soul.

Precious Lord, free us this day from judging others. In your grace, in our lives, let your Spirit reign that we might see, speak, and act your truth in love. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus' name...
