Contentment

How easy it is to get wrapped up in the hectic life, to become overwhelmed by the tasks that are ever before us as we have life. Stop the worrying and the frenetic activity. God is a God of order and power.

Paul writes, I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength (Phil. 4:12-13).

The strength, peace, and contentment that is most real, always available, and eternal is only in Christ. Embrace the idea, "everything that I do, will be done as if working for the Lord" (Col. 3:23).

Lord God, in this day, we put our trust in you. You are the perfect peace we desire. You are the foundation of righteousness and strength we need. By your Spirit keep our spiritual eyes focused on Christ that in all things this day we will be living witnesses of the love we have and know because of Him who lives in us. 

We thank you for the forgiveness and grace for those things that we have said or done that were not pleasing to you, they have passed. 

Your call upon our lives is here, today, and your Spirit is our Advocate. We will move, both in rest and in work, according to your grace - ever present and always sufficient. In the name of Jesus…
