Church Institution
Jesus said, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness." Matthew 23:27
It appears all so clear - that part of the body of Christ which is "institutionalized"...more in love with the form and manner of the outward appearance and its' deep desire to maintain the status quo.
And so it goes with me. I see in the church that which has been a part of my life - the god of pride. Pride born of, rooted in, the fear of not "measuring up" or "being enough".
Silly me, silly institutionalized church; seeking to abet and harbor that which Christ died for.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. RM 8:1
What is impossible for man is possible with God. LK:18:27
The joy and peace of God is ours as we surrender the "right to control our own and others' lives" and more fully embrace the great responsibility of our "response in the Spirit of Christ."
May the God of all true peace, love, and joy fill your hearts, homes, communities of faith, and the nations this day and every day!
