Blessed

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. MT 5:10

It most certainly is not God's intentional will that persons are persecuted for their righteousness. However, it most certainly is true that persons go against God's will, even to the point of hurting and killing others.

The ability to live out (peace, love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) might best be understood, embraced, and achieved by abiding in Christ and allowing the Spirit to lead.

Sovereign God, pour out your mercy on all those who are suffering and persecuted, especially those who bear your name. Let your peace and assurance strengthen their spirits in this very hour and sustain them throughout the day.

Make us faithful servants in your grace that our words and deeds would bring a physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort to those in need.
