A Prayer for Transformation

Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord's disciples. Acts 9:1

Holy God, how great is your name, how wonderful are your works, there is none like you. You, oh Lord, and only you, transform hearts from evil intentions and make something beautiful. Father, in your mercy, let your grace flow through the Middle East and open the eyes of those whose hearts are filled with treachery. Let your angels watch over all those who walk or stand in harms way, giving them your assurance as your Spirit fills them afresh this day. Help me, help us, sovereign God, to be a people intent upon being the salt and light in the world - living witnesses, like Paul, whose life became so filled with love for you that he proclaimed with boldness the Good News. Thank you Lord Jesus for what you have done, are doing, and will do in the lives of the faithful, but especially in the lives of the broken-hearted. Use me, use us this day as only you can and will to be part of transforming hearts, families, and nations, that all the world might know and claim, Jesus is Lord!
