Waiting

We know the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, grown inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. Romans 8:22-23

Sovereign God, we wait in your presence as your Spirit works in us according to your will and pleasure. We are freed from self-satisfaction as we share in the goodness of Christ in a hurting world. We see the needs of others through the eyes of your Spirit who has revealed in each of us our brokenness.

Lord, we do not despair as we are filled with the promise, hope, and assurance that "The One who lives in us is greater than the one who lives in the world...apart from you, God, we can do no good thing...in Christ, we can do all things."

Our waiting in you holy and precious Lord is never in vain as we are surrendered to your perfect and pleasing will and surrounded by a host of your saints, transformed by your love to be living means of grace for sharing the hope of the world - Jesus Christ, through words and deeds.

Bless each of us O Lord, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - all glory and honor is yours. Amen.
