Two Masters

No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Luke 16:13

Hmmm...I've never met anyone in my life who thought or claimed that they loved money more than God. Except, maybe one, a Sgt Major in the Marine Corps. He used to say, "I've got all the friends I need in my back pocket: Jackson, Grant, and Franklin." In a bit of fairness to him, he would say that in reference to being careful to choose your friends carefully.

That last part sounds like pretty good advice. Scripture also makes it fairly clear, "we are not to worry about accumulating the material things, God knows what we need."

Thought: only God judges the content and character of one's life when it is finished; and, while you still live on earth, each day you will be given opportunities to choose allegiance - to the material or spiritual.

The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
