Treasure

After conversing with the "rich young ruler" Jesus said, " I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
Matthew 19:23–24

Most persons will not identify themselves as rich.

Jesus knew the rich young man cared for or loved the money and wealth that was in his possession more than he loved Jesus.

Once a person has "surrendered all", they spend the rest of their life living into the cost of their discipleship - in Jesus' name.

Is there something or someone that is of greater significance in your life than Christ?

It is a question that the church, the body of Christ, specifically, those faith communities that self-identify as a particular denomination, might find both challenging and renewing, if they were to ask.
