Sin and the Promise of Righteousness in Christ

Oh my! I pray you read/hear this like you have never heard it before and BELIEVE!

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him... The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey it's evil desires...rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. Romans 6:selected verses

Did you hear that?! I confess, as many times as I've heard it, read it, and even taught it, I've still falsely believed, "I'm a sinner!"

No, no, no!!! Yes, I was a sinner, living in disobedience to God's will for my life. BUT, I have died to a life of sin with Christ and now live in grace with Christ to a life of righteousness!

Simply, the point..."sin might remain but it no longer reigns!" You and I are no longer "sinners"! I did not say we are perfect, but are we aspiring to "be holy as I am holy", yes! Can we confess, "if I say or do anything that is good or praiseworthy, then surely it is because of the grace of God that grips me?" Yes!

Are you going to live today with the label and identification as "sinner", OR, are you going to live into...

The promise we have in Christ, through Christ, with Christ, YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST, YOU ARE A SAINT, REDEEMED BY HIS BLOOD, FOR HIS GOOD PURPOSE - LOVE GOD, LOVE OTHERS, FOR THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION FOR THOSE IN CHRIST JESUS!
