Rest

Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

Who or what are those things that are drawing your attention away from the Prince of Peace? Martha (LK 10:41-42) was preoccupied with having everything in the house "just right" for Christ. Peter (MT 26:50-52) was more concerned about fighting for the "honor" of Christ.

Nothing compares to the unexplainable rest and peace that comes with surrendering all "rights" and "honors" to simply be in the Presence of the Most High, to know the Pardon of the Living Lord, and to embrace the Power of the Creator.

His invitation always stands, "Come to me..."
