Knowing God

My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2–3

O Lord, in your mercy, let your comfort, healing, peace, and power in your Spirit be poured out in a broken and hurting world. Only you, Creator God, can truly change the the heart and soul for the good - to love as Christ has loved.

In you, Lord Jesus, all have the promise of eternal hope. Break those who have heart's of stone and walk in the way of evil. In our distress and anger keep us, as only you can do, from falling prey to the snares of the evil one.

Your grace, precious Savior, is sufficient. We rest in you and the knowledge of the living Word that we might be, ever so humbly, an instrument of reconciliation and comfort in the world you created, your offer of redemption, and your hope of a purposeful and holy love. 

We pray that you accept this prayer and the silent prayers of our hearts in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
