God is the Same

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 1 Corinthians 12:4–6

Take comfort, pastors and persons in leadership positions, you're not expected to have all the answers! Nor does your position of authority come with it the expectation of micromanaging another's gift set. 

When ego (edging God out) gets suspended, we can more fully accept the beautiful privilege and responsibility of nurturing cooperation, edifying, and empowering others in their gifts. 

God is God...yesterday, today, and forever. 

God of all creation, nations, communities and families, your love is steadfast, your purpose is unchanging and our participation is desired but not obligated. Your grace is sufficient, your Spirit is convicting and Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

Secure my heart, that my mouth and spirit might move with humility and encouragement during this Advent season. 

May your presence, Holy God, be especially known in the hearts and homes of those struggling with the loss of loved ones...in your mercy Lord Jesus…
