God is Love

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8

Sovereign God, goodness and mercy, compassion and healing, surround you to the right and left, to the front and rear. Your presence is known through the work of your Spirit that calls each of us by name, inviting us into the place and source of all that is beautiful and praiseworthy. Holy God, you are Love, you are Perfection, you are Truth, you are Righteousness, you are Christ, you, and you alone, are Jesus, Lord and Savior!

Sovereign God, you invite us in that you might send us out, for you are Love. Let us be emptied of anything and everything that is a reflection of self that we might more reflect you, the image of God. Give us each this day what you alone have inscribed upon the life stories of all the saints who have gone before, a servant's heart. 

We pray O God, that this song of love may begin and bear fruit in those who are closest to us. You, almighty and everlasting God are not bound by anything on this earth - let us live this day in-Spirit that we, your children, might know you more fully and the world may experience your transforming grace in very real, intentional, and personal ways. 

We offer this prayer and the silent prayers of hearts in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Amen.
