Freedom in Forgiveness
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15
There can be a sense of comfort in knowing that you are not wrong in your assessment of another's sin. The comfort can nurture a sense of righteous indignation. Indignation can stoke the flames for retribution. And when they do get their due, whatever that may be....instead of peace, you wake up to find yourself a prisoner in your own hardened heart.

Father God, in our brokenness we want to hold fast to our hurts, in your grace you offer freedom, peace, and joy. O Lord, in this day, may we experience a contrite heart and the forgiving minute that we would know more fully your eternal righteousness...
