Called for a Purpose

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Ephesians 4:1–2

Most ministers of the gospel, disciples of Christ, mistakenly place their emphasis on the gifting and talents they have received. By doing so they inadvertently "call" attention to themselves and experience "burn out" in ministry.

The life of ministry is rooted, sustained, and found fruitful only in and as much as you and I surrender our mind, body, and spirit to the Spirit of Christ - we "take on" Christ as Christ takes over us.

It is by far the most difficult task of the Christian disciple and the only place to rest in the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Holy God, you have called us according to your purpose and plan - a life of love. Lord Jesus, find us faithful this day to draw upon your grace that is freely given that all that we say and do would be a testimony, a witness of your life that transforms hearts and minds, cultures and societies, generations and nations.

In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit...let us remain…
