Ask
Oftentimes, pride keeps one from asking for help in the natural world. Help with getting an object off a high shelf. Help with solving a problem at work. Help with paying a bill during a difficult financial time.
Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you...” MT 7:7
Pride in the natural world will blind one to the spiritual gift Jesus desires to share with all - himself!
I can’t pretend to be able to explain the supernatural things of God, like God’s peace, God’s assurance, God’s provision. What I do know and must share is that whenever one asks God to reveal God’s self, that is, “God, I’m asking for you. I need you”, God is there, being God. And, as only God can and do, so is the peace, or the assurance, or the strength, or the forgiveness, or the vision.

God, I want to know you better. I want to see with the eyes that you see. I want to hear Lord, with the ears that you hear. I want to know you oh Lord, that I might know love and be love as you love. Free my spirit from the cares of the world that in your Spirit, your presence, I might care for the world as you care for me. In the name of Jesus...
